His Excellency has a long-established commitment to highlighting issues affecting the most vulnerable people in our community. His Excellency has a strong interest in social welfare, which reflects Lady Bowen’s significant legacy of civic-mindedness and contribution to Queenslanders in need.
Through targeted financial assistance , the Lady Bowen Trust assists people in Queensland who are experiencing homelessness, or who are at risk of homelessness, to stabilise their lives and build a better future.
The Trust tailors support to help people with complex, individual needs to address issues that contribute to homelessness. These include mental health issues, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic and family violence and young people who have exited the care system.
The independent trustee of the Lady Bowen Trust is the Public Trustee of Queensland who is assisted by a Board of Advice consisting of leaders in the business, community and not-for-profit sectors
